These images all started as film David Stratford shot and developed all the way back in 1975.
Since then the film has been carefully scanned, and from there David painstakingly worked with the digitized grain of the film, infusing brilliant colors into the image while striving to maintain the original structure of the photo to create these works. Each piece's color variations represent different moods, interpretations, and perspectives.
Plainly, these are not drawings or renderings of the musician's faces, these are actual scanned film images with curated color infusions.
